2026Butterman draws on children’s interactive educational toys, as non-neutral objects, to examine how play functions as a form of conditioning. 2025In this work, a transparent sandcastle melting by the sea becomes a metaphor for the gradual disappearance of childhood. Set against a culture in which childhood is increasingly adultified while adults long for lost innocence, the work reflects on growth, loss, and the reconstruction of the self.
